Happy New Year from all of us at Freedom Healthcare Staffing! Thanks to you, 2011 was our best year yet, and we cannot wait to see what 2012 has in store.
We know that the holidays are a special time, so we want to extend an extra thanks to all of our dedicated Nurses, CNA’s, and Allied providers who worked over the past few weeks.
In 2011, hundreds of you worked with Freedom in dozens of healthcare facilities all across the United States. You lived in new, exciting places, and excelled in furthering your careers and caring for your patients.
You referred your friends and colleagues, and earned more referral rewards than ever before. We take great pride in being a great company to work for, and your recommendations mean a lot to us.
We are always hearing great things about Freedom providers from the facilities where you work. One of our proudest moments of 2011 occurred when a Freedom Nurse was honored as the Nurse of the Month! She won a reserved parking spot for the month, and had a reception in her honor.
Here at our corporate office in Denver, 2011 was a great year. FHCS continues to grow, and we encourage you to always reach out if there is anything we can do for you. All of our recruiters love working with you and continue to work hard for you and your career. 2011 was an especially exciting year for our Recruiter Hank, who is expecting his first child in February!
As we enter 2012, we renew our pledge to provide you with the most choices, to offer the best incentives and benefits, and of course to treat you with respect every step of the way. Best wishes of health and prosperity for you and your loved ones, and we look forward to working with you in this upcoming year!

We think one of the greatest things about being a Traveler is the opportunity to live in different places all across the United States! While it can be daunting to relocate, we think you’d agree that that these assignments are professionally and personally rewarding.
When you work with Freedom, you’ll notice that we do things a bit differently. For starters, you’ll quickly notice the emphasis the Freedom team places on maintaining a drama-free experience from the moment you speak to a recruiter all the way through the duration of your assignment. And speaking of assignments, when you travel with Freedom, you have choices only we can offer.
Around here, we like to say “More Orders, More Choices!”. We offer you a diverse range of assignment options in terms of geographic location, specialty, duration, and compensation structure. To see what we mean, check out our job seekers tab for current openings, and make sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook to track new assignments as they are made available.
Be sure to keep checking on us here at the Freedom site. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be making updates to our website with helpful pages just for you! You’ll be able to turn here for exclusive resources to the travel nursing community.
Website updates will include important information to know before, during and after an assignment. We’ll be introducing a new log in system for you to track your application status, upcoming assignments, hours, and referral rewards. We’ll report back on what it is like to live and work in our many featured assignment cities. We’ll also be streamlining our job postings into a more user-friendly format.
In the meantime, we’d love to hear what you want to see on our blog. Feel free to leave comments below. Thanks for reading and for being a part of Freedom!

We would like to update our visitors on three very exciting developments at Freedom, which have all occurred within the past few weeks:
First, as of October, we have qualified and been approved as a staffing provider to all federal government facilities, including the Veterans Administration, Department of Defense, and all other health care operations of the federal government. We are just finishing some paperwork, and expect to have numerous new travel opportunities within the next few months. One of the best features of traveling under these opportunities is that in many cases, you do not need to have an additional license for the state where the federal facility is located. This decreases paperwork and speeds placement. Let us know where you would like to travel!
Second, we were surveyed by the Joint Commission in October, and were officially notified this week that we have received their GOLD SEAL, and a two-year certification under the JCAHO Healthcare Staffing Services program. We are very proud of this accomplishment, and again, this development will likewise open new doors to us in contracting for new travel opportunities.
Please help us improve this site and our company by contributing to this blog with comments or suggestion. We hope to hear from you soon.
Eric

On behalf of myself and all associates at Freedom Healthcare Staffing (FHS), I would like to welcome you to our website and our travel staffing “blog.” This blog is an open discussion of all matters relating to nurses and allied professionals who have chosen to pursue their careers by traveling away from their homes.
Although we are a new company, the founders of FHS have all spent years in the healthcare staffing industry, and we are all also former hospital staff- care providers and managers. This combination of experience– providers and customers, of temporary staffing gives us a distinctive approach to staffing that greatly improves the experience of both travelers and the healthcare facilities who partner with us. Freedom refers not to the patriotic notion, but instead to our intention to serve travelers by enabling them to work where and when they want while maximizing their earnings, and facilities who wish to care for their patient community by always having the availability of professional staff to meet their scope and quality of services.
We hope this combination also gives us a unique perspective on current issues and trends related to the field. So, we intend in the weeks to come to introduce commentary, material, and links in the blog on topics such as the traveling experience, the shortage of healthcare professionals, experiences at hospitals, industry news, etc, and we invite your full participation. All are encouraged to post their comments and opinions on the topics that will be placed here. We only ask that responses be kept on-topic, and that the conversation/debate be kept civil. Have fun!
Eric
