Freedom Healthcare Staffing Blog

Welcome to Freedom Healthcare Staffing!

On behalf of myself and all associates at Freedom Healthcare Staffing (FHS), I would like to welcome you to our website and our travel staffing “blog.” This blog is an open discussion of all matters relating to nurses and allied professionals who have chosen to pursue their careers by traveling away from their homes.

Although we are a new company, the founders of FHS have all spent years in the healthcare staffing industry, and we are all also former hospital staff- care providers and managers. This combination of experience– providers and customers, of temporary staffing gives us a distinctive approach to staffing that greatly improves the experience of both travelers and the healthcare facilities who partner with us. Freedom refers not to the patriotic notion, but instead to our intention to serve travelers by enabling them to work where and when they want while maximizing their earnings, and facilities who wish to care for their patient community by always having the availability of professional staff to meet their scope and quality of services.

We hope this combination also gives us a unique perspective on current issues and trends related to the field. So, we intend in the weeks to come to introduce commentary, material, and links in the blog on topics such as the traveling experience, the shortage of healthcare professionals, experiences at hospitals, industry news, etc, and we invite your full participation. All are encouraged to post their comments and opinions on the topics that will be placed here. We only ask that responses be kept on-topic, and that the conversation/debate be kept civil. Have fun!

Thinking of travel nursing starting around September. ER nurse now in South Carolina but would like to go to Missouri, Arizonia and New Hampshire. Just checking out some different companies and some of the comments of current travel nurse employees. Little scary for the first time but my husband will be accompanying me. Anyone with some stories, good or bad, please respond.

This is absolutely the BEST company I have ever worked for! I was also working for a larger, but definitely NOT better company when I first heard of FHCS. As soon as that initial assignment was complete I was in touch with Ryan, and it has been all about me as a nurse from there! I love this company and hope to see it grow and grow and grow. I have taken a personal interest in making sure I help this company become the best it can be by providing quality nursing care, and the staff has all responded by taking care of ME! My mouth just doesn’t stop runninng about how great this team is to work for! Ryan, Titas, Naveena, Ali, and everyone……YOU ROCK!

I can’t say enough good things about Freedom HSC! Having been a travel nurse since 1998 and I almost became burned out when it seemed that all the companies that I had worked for were gettting more & more away from caring about their nurses vs making the all mighty dollar for the company, execs and/or their investors. Many were getting so top heavy one wonders who was actually doing the “travel nursing”.
I was on an assignment with a not-to-be-mentioned company that had again proven that they were not to be trusted and were more into their company than their nurses. So much so that they lied about the living arraingements on site and then once there said, “well there’s nothing we can do about it now”…. Talk about having poor relationships with your employees! What a disappointment!
While at that assignment, I learned that Eric & Lou were at a “new” comany. I was overjoyed! I knew from previous experience that these guys really cared about their nurses. I have not been disappointed, not in the least! There have been times that I have had issues, but never with Freedom HCS. My recruiter and/or someone else in the office was always there to resolve or help me resolve the problem. I hope to be able to travel with them for a very long time.
Thanks again to Eric, Lou, Susan, Alecia, Navina, Ryan,Titus, Hank and the rest of the gang. Keep up the good work & “Happy Trails” to all you travellers!

I chose this company because a friend reccommended them. I spoke with Lou and immediately felt like I had a real friend. It took a little while for the contracts to get in place, but I finally had a job for me. Unfortunately the first one did not work out, but due to the facility, not Freedom. When I talked to Max and Naveena, they made me feel very supported. I have taken another assignment with them and they continue to encourage and support me and make me feel like they really care how you are. Max calls and checks at least once a week. I have been with other companies and never hear from them until you leave. I have been telling others about this company. Hope they have great success and I know they will because everybody there is the best. It means a lot to have someone answer the phone and sound really glad to hear from you.

I was a little worried when I started with this company back in December. I was even more worried when I arrived at my housing and it was nasty. One phone call to the company took care of all that. They got me into some decent housing right away. I have not had a problem with payroll. My recruiter Max is the greatest. So are Susan, Naveena, Hank, Lou, Alisha, Ryan and anyone else I have missed. I have never called there and not gotten to talk to someone. This company and my recruiter are the greatest. Just signed my second contract with them also.

SO good to talk to someone who is really NURSE oriented, not someone who is trying to do as little for the nurse to help the COMPANY progress. Seems as though the compompanies have forgotten who butters their bread!!!! Thanks for the opportunity to try again. Asalwaysontherun says, It is good to be the “OLD SCHOOL” who care. Looking forward to working with you

  7. alwaysontherun Says:

Well well…… Here we go again….. Never get to comfortable
where you are and what your doing…. because it can all be taken away in just a few short moments. As a veteran traveler it is good to be with a group that is going OLD SCHOOL…. You can actually talk to people, and get an answer when you need it, and have the personal attention that seems to have been lost through the corporate buyouts and mergers… I decided not to be a nurse any longer to persue my other goals of directing and starting my own company…. But things change and when I decided to get back in the mix, my only choice was FREEDOM HCS……..

Thanks to Naveena, Lou, Eric and the entire gang at Freedom.. It has been a pleasure…

    Always on the Run…………….
